Thank you, Katrina

If, in the view of the "glass is half full" crowd, every cloud has a silver lining, then Hurricane Katrina's silver lining has been that it has focused attention on runaway spending in Congress. Congressional leaders who had heretofore crowed about their lean spending record were, under pressure from constituents and bloggers, forced to admit there's still a lot of pork to be pared from the budget.
